I think that people like The roman battel mass Blake a.ka freequency need to banned from the zone, because of the way they act towards people!
When I become a cl, people won't like me, because I will watch how people talk to people.
I was brought up to respect my elders.
There in lies the very reason that you'll never become a community leader then because that isn't part of the job description. We're not here to police what people say to each other. Our job is to make sure that the terms of service are adhered too and so long as that's happening, we'll not censure our users opinions.

I realize this is the rant board which means you have the right to rant, but people are rude everywhere you go. Do you have friends and family who drive? Haven't you ever heard them complain about people cutting them off in traffic? Haven't you ever been standing in line somewhere and have people shove in front of you? Haven't you ever had people swear at you when you don't even know why? Rudeness and disrespect are all over the place, so you'll have to learn to deal with it here too.

Lol, I've seen Jared's name on several boards along these lines, but never Blake's. Nor have I ever seen Blake do anything to warrant being mentioned, but ... *shrugs*
As Becky said, there's no shortage of rude and disrespectful people in the world, and they're not just found on the Zone. Contrary to popular belief, there is a world outside this site, and people are equally rude in face to face situations. Granted, there are those who feel they can say things online that they probably wouldn't say offline because it's just the Internet, but that's what the ignore feature is for, if you're really so bothered by the words of someone who has no real significance in your life and who you'll probably never meet. Boards like this are really rather pointlessly stupid, and yes, I am furthering the stupidity by posting.
Can the freedom of speech thing go too far? I mean, there's some things you just don't say and do. Especially disrespecting each other when it's not called for. Oh and does the freedom of speech include board topics like this? Clearly not, according to everyone else who want to criticize.

If the zone sucks so much learn to program and go create a site like this where you can enforce rules that mean people have to treat others with respect. You won't take the time to do that though, you'll just bitch.

Some times people are sensitive to what other people say. Like myself, some people can get upset easily. But then that's why there are bords that say don't come to them if you are easily affended. I don't think it is any good saying to people deal with it or get on with it especially if they are the sensitive type.

While I wouldn't have named names, I can certainly understand some of the frustration that is derived from coming to a site to relax only to have people hijack board topics, sende rude quicknotes, or act like they don't have the manners and good sense that the good Lord gave a collard green. Also, saying things like 'get over it, you whining whiner who whines whiningly' to me is just a cop out and an unwillingness to change the behavior.
But of course, why should people have to change their behavior? After all, it's OMG teh INTernets!!!!!11!!1!!!1' So the rude people will always say to grow up while the very sensitive will tell the rude people that they are tired of their rudeness, and everyone will end up throwing their toys in the yard and throwing a tantrum until the information superhighway of good will and happy people fall in to a hole in the bottom of the deep blue sea.
The beauty of this website is that you have a choice with whom you associate. When someone really gets under your skin and you find yourself wondering how to program a game that involves kicking teeth out of filthy mouths, you can save yourself the hassle and put them on ignore. Unfortunately, the ignore feature is only as good as you make it. And while I am uncertain of how often the ignored tries to go around being ignored and contact the offended party, it seems to me that there are people that are hell bent on letting everyone know that they ignored someone, thus calling more attention to themselves and throwing more toys in the playground. 'Hey, I ignored this person. Yeah, I ignored him. Hey, someone tell him I ignored him! Did you guys hear that? Dude, I like, totally ig-to-the-nored that jerk! Helloooo! Does anyone hear me?' I have certainly seen that before and it just perpetuates the very thing that people don't like and you are still in contact with Jerky McJerkypants.
Having been an only child for most of my life, I have a bad case of 'the last word' syndrome. In the end, it doesn't matter as long as you are having a good time.
For the record, just as people can exercise their precious free speech to say rude and insensitive things, people can exercise theirs by whining. This is the rant board, after all. And, please remember that this is a topic. I don't think that the users have the ability to create boards, and yet people say that others are creating stupid boards all of the time. But, it's a topic *in* a board. That's only going to cost $20 for my wise words of never-ending wisdom. *grin*
So, I guess I said all of that to explain that this site is what you make it. When the zone throws you lemons, use the ignore feature and make lemonade. That way, you can have happy zone time (tm) in peace and not have to worry about specific people grating on your nerves more than that idiot who rakes their nails down a chalkboard.

I'm vary sorry and i do understand where you are coming from but you have to be the better man and just let it go. just think to your self and say "thank god i'm not like them".
I agree meka, but the point I'm trying to make is, rather than winge about people being insensative, just don't read the parts you disagree with. I know users who don't participate in public QN's or post to the boards simply because they don't like what's said, but they don't post boards here there and everywhere complaining. If someone doesn't like something, I'm a firm believer in doing something to improve your own situation yourself, rather than cause an issue over it, . If asking people to stop doesn't work, then you have your own powers to prevent yourself being exposed to things you don't like. That's all.

Someone mentioned that it's not free speech because people are criticizing this topic? Well, guess what? The same freedom that gives you the ability to post this topic, gives your criticizers the ability to criticize it. Otherwise, I'd have gladly removed this topic, and every topic like it that I've seen, because this is really getting ridiculous.

your post is really right on, and I hardly ever start my own topics anymore, for the very reasons you stated in your firstpost. I have over thirty something zoners on ignore for the same reason, but if I see a post I agree with and understand, I will reply to it whether some folk on here like it or not. they are free to put me on ignore. those who criticized you could've just as easily put you on ignore if they don't like your post, but I guess that would take away the funof criticism. If i'd come on here 8 years or so ago, that is, if the zone had existed back then, I wouldn't have lasted a day, and if it weren't for the ignore feature, i'd be long gone and not post at all. I think the zone, plus other places have made me a little more hard hearted, and i was sort of afraid if i stayed on here too long, i would get very hard hearted indeed, but I'm only hard hearted towards the roughians, and to those who themselves are hard hearted. Anyway, I understand where you're coming from, and it's why as i say, I don't post much anymore,except on the elder folk board, or the geeks are us board when i' have a question, but I seldom if ever start my own topics on this board or let's talk anymore, but I just have to reply if i agree with what a poster has said. anyway, nice to eet you, and have a good day,

Personally, I think this entire board is ridiculous, so I still don't quite understand why everyone is still talking about this.
Well, I understand the freedom of speech, but I've seen rude posts criticizing me and calling me names. That's what the ignore feature is for, so I can use it. I won't say names, but these two people start making good board topics a place to make fun of me. Well, I'll just ignore them and be thankful for the friends I have.
Even though there are some people on the zone that can be rude, there are quite a few who are kind and thoughtful. I think that if someone on the zone is rude to you, don't let it get you down. Be thankful for those who care about you.
